I Am Still Here

I thought I must at least give you a drive by to let everyone know that I am still alive.  I ended up having the epidural last week and have been taking it easy and hoping that it will work.  I am cautiously optimistic at this point because I still have pain but every day is better.

I finished the Wool Girl sock club socks and can't wait to wear them.  Hopefully the weather will be a little cooler this week too.

Yarn  Miss Babs Sport 3 ply 100% Merino Wool in Waterfall Color way

Pattern  Waterfall by Babs Ausherman

Size 3 DPN's (The Knitpicks Harmony DPN)  Loved them!

The yarn was wonderful to knit with and the pattern was fun to knit.

I also received my first installment of the Yarn Pirate sock club.  Beautiful yarn, 2 pink circular needles and a pin and sticker.  I am having trouble on a pattern though, any thoughts?

I finished my second Wisp and have started a third since I decided they would make great gifts.  I am also knitting away on the Secret of the Stole.  I am enjoying receiving the clues weekly because I don't feel so overwhelmed with a huge project at once.  I also started another pair of socks using Herdra from Knitty and Lime Yarntini yarn.  Sorry about the lack of links but I think most everyone knows where to find them.

Monday Monday

A big thanks goes out to everyone on your kind words after my last post.  I think I am finally over the break in and don't cringe over any strange noises.  My back is still not doing very good though.  I was scheduled for a block this week but the pain has shifted and since it is at least bearable so I am going to cancel it for now.  Now on to better news.  Since I have had to rest more than I might have liked I have been knitting and working on gifts too.

I received my Sock Club yarn from Wool Girl and the yarn is perfect for me.  I wound the yarn yesterday and realized I didn't have (or couldn't find )the correct size needles.   Also please notice the stitch marker, Sock Club Journal and the delicious Chocolate Mint lip balm.  Thanks Jen for a wonderful package!

And since I have had more sitting down time than usual here are a few of FO's to show you.  I finished the Penllyn socks from Wildhorse Designs.  I would highly recommend this pattern since it was fun to knit and looks harder than it is.

I also finished another Forest Canopy Shawl from Susan.  After a trip to Knit Nouveau to check out some new sock yarns I decided to try the shawl in Jojoland Melody.  The color changes are very muted which is what I like.  This shawl is a great project and will be a gift.Dsc_0029_3

Since I haven't knitted a scarf lately I decided on Wisp from Knitty.  I altered the pattern to 38 stitches and deleted the buttons.  This was a quick and fun pattern.
