This and That
I wish that I could say that I have had a couple of wonderful weeks but I can't. Since my last post our house was broken into but at least nothing was taken. We have an alarm system that will contact the police. When I arrived home there was one policeman at my back door(open) with his gun drawn and I then noticed a broken window in the carport. He said he was waiting for backup before going into the house. Then Cisco kitty appears at the door and I yell don't let him out since he is strictly a house kitty. He then gently pulls the door closed enough so Cisco can't get out and realizes that I am freaking out that the other kitties might have gotten out. Anyway backup arrives and the house appears to be safe after every closet is checked out and of course they have to look under the beds too. If there could be anything comical in this, one of the policemen asked if the bedroom was like this when I left since it looked liked it had been ransacked and I had to say it did, but at least the rest of the house was fairly clean and straight. All of the kitties were accounted for but in the process I totally did something to my back. I guess the stress and trying to look under and all over for the kitties just did it in. Anyway enough of the bad stuff.
I finished the Forest Canopy Shawl and I used every bit of the skein of yarn. This is a great pattern and I would recommend it to anyone even if you haven't knitted lace before.
Forest Canopy Shawl from Susan Lawrence
Malabrigo Lace in Bobby Blue 470 yards
Addi Lace # 4 needles
I have also finished a sock too. The Penllyn Socks from Wildhorse Farm Designs is a fun and easy pattern and looks good in the Yarntini yarn that I have been saving for the right pattern. I CO for the second sock last night.
More later. Have a good day.
